Web Animation

Home

  1. Design your characters and backgrounds on paper first

  2. Storyboard the script so that the director knows what to do

  3. Draw your basic outlined character(s) using AppleWorks or another drawing program.  Save them as charlie1, sarah1, etcDraw the facial features (move shape, eyes etc) as separate files and save them as eyes1, legs1, etc.

  4. Create any backgrounds you require and save them as something like background1, etc.

  5. Experiment with cutting and pasting your characters onto the background and saving them as individual files.  Number them in order of animation sequence (ie. scenea1, scenea2, etc.)

  6. Use Gifbuilder and import the files in order.

  7. Adjust the timings for each frame until you are happy with the results.

  8. When you are happy with the timings, save your work (you should do that constantly!) and export it as a GIF file.  You will be able to load this up in a web browser and start adding it to your own web pages!
